In a strategic move to enhance connectivity and bolster regional development, the Andhra Pradesh government has rolled out a comprehensive road upgrade plan worth ₹1,500 crore. This initiative is part of the state’s broader vision to strengthen its infrastructure backbone and accelerate economic growth through improved transport facilities.

The proposed road network upgrade will cover state highways and key district roads, ensuring seamless access across rural and urban corridors. This will not only improve travel efficiency but also support industries and logistics by cutting down travel time and boosting safety.

With the backing of the Roads and Buildings Department and funding from the New Development Bank (NDB), the project aims to adopt modern construction technologies and sustainable practices. The roadmap includes rehabilitating existing roads, widening narrow stretches, and constructing bypasses where needed.

Experts believe that the successful implementation of this ₹15-billion plan could significantly uplift connectivity in remote areas, ease traffic congestion, and stimulate socio-economic development in Andhra Pradesh.
