Maharashtra Gears Up for a Game-Changing Expressway Connecting Vadhvan Port with Samruddhi Mahamarg

In a move poised to redefine regional logistics, the Maharashtra government has announced plans for a dedicated expressway that will link the proposed Vadhvan Port in Palghar with the high-speed Samruddhi Mahamarg (Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg). This strategic infrastructure initiative is designed to streamline cargo movement from the western coastline to key industrial and urban hubs across the state.

The upcoming expressway will not only ease port-to-hinterland freight movement but also unlock massive potential for economic growth, real estate development, and job creation along the corridor. Once operational, this route is expected to drastically reduce travel time, enhance logistics efficiency, and strengthen Maharashtra's position as a key maritime and industrial powerhouse.

With the Vadhvan Port positioned as one of India’s upcoming mega ports under the Sagarmala project, the expressway will provide crucial last-mile connectivity to inland markets, thus transforming Palghar into a logistics gateway for the state and beyond.

Experts believe the new expressway will catalyze investment inflow in logistics parks, industrial clusters, and warehousing facilities, especially around the northern Maharashtra belt, including Nashik, Aurangabad, and Nagpur, connected via the Samruddhi corridor.

This infrastructure leap aligns with Maharashtra's vision to modernize its transport network and establish multi-modal connectivity between ports, expressways, rail, and air.
